After he recently retired his Demon alias to focus on Macabre Unit, Raff is back at it with his new release on Triangulum Records.

The 4-track EP is a hint back to the Macabre Unit days of old, tearing up local pirate radio as well as making movements on the national scene on the way to establishing themselves as one of the Grime scenes most involved crews.

OK is a track that brings a sense of dread, the good kind of dread; snapping snares and an almost war-like pad create a simple yet proper daunting track, capable of turning a dancefloor in a second.

Fandango is a higher-tempo track with tense strings accompanied by some cold hard hitting percussion, title track Prototype delivers a pulsing rhythm layered with yet more fear-inducing strings (Macabre Unit are known for bringing the end of worlds with their strings).

Lastly, Alive channels some of Macabre Unit’s leftover inner Demon with a set of drums hard enough to cut through steel, pieced with some classic Macabre Unit/Demon horror vocals and rough pads.

The Prototype is out 18th March. Cop it here.
